The Charouleau Bedroom Collection

** I received Country Chic paint to complete this furniture makeover, however the opinions and thoughts expressed here are 100% my own.

A Seventies Intervention

Oh good golly would you look at this?! You may have passed up a bedroom set just like this at a garage sale. What, why!? You don't think it's pretty? ;) Okay, you're right. It's hideous but ah, come on... it has the bones to be love-e-lee. We're going to transform this bedroom set into something spectacular for just $25. Yep, you read that right. Twenty-five, one dollar bills. With just a little paint, this bedroom makeover is going from drab to fab!

Take a gander at the hardware. They are exquisite, but they get swallowed up in the existing wood finish. Care for a close up? Friends, they just don't make hardware like they used to!

They also don't make wood like they used to. ;) I'd rather fix up an older all wood set any day then shell out $$ for a new set that may or may not contain particle board.

We unscrewed all of the hardware, grabbed a paint brush and some Country Chic Paint in Vanilla Frosting and went to work. After two and half layers of paint, we gave it light distressing and put it back together.

Country Chic Paint: Fireside

** I received Country Chic Paint to complete this project, however the thoughts and opinions presented here are 100% my own.

In our home, we decorate with LOVE and PURPOSE. Every Halloween we pull out old Halloween photos of the kids from years past and use those to decorate our house. It's meaningful, it's cheap, it creates GIGGLES and it allows us to reminince old stories. I needed to add some new Halloween picture frames to our stash and decided to up-cycle some frames that I already had instead of going out and buying new ones. And I'm thrilled to try out one of Country Chic Paint's new colors... Fireside.

I gathered up my old frames, painters tape, a chevron stencil and Country Chic Paint in Vanilla Frosting, Liquorice and Fireside and opted for a mix of bold patterns with some solids.

Here's putting it altogether...

The Halloween printables you see in my home are FREE and are offered by the talented and generous Desiree from The 36th Avenue and Makoodle and are for personal use only.

I'm guest posting over at Country Chic Paint today! Stop on over and say hi!

Create Two Pieces Of Furniture From A China Hutch

Learn how to create two separate pieces of furniture from an old china hutch! Create the look of stylish custom furniture simply by adding legs and make your furniture budget stretch further!

Wouldn't it be awesome if you could score two pieces of furniture for the price of one? What if I said you could! In fact, this DIY furniture tutorial is SO AWESOME it's even better than walking into a 50% off furniture clearance or a buy one get one FREE furniture sale!

Do "buy one, get one free" furniture sales even exist?  Wishful thinking!

In this post, we're going to share with you a creative and innovative way to furnish your home with stylish and custom pieces for a fraction of a fraction of the cost that you would pay if you were buying brand new furniture. :)

You are going to learn how to create two pieces of furniture simply by separating the top and the bottom sections of a tired china hutch
