I love when I come across a pair of matching vintage bedroom sets. I like to picture siblings playing games, flipping through magazines and listening to the oldies but goodies and telling stories to one another at bedtime. These headboards and night stands have memories and tell stories. There was a lot more life left in these pieces and we wanted to spruce them up for many more years to come.
We painted these beauties in Paris Grey Chalk Paint® decorative paint by Annie Sloan and sealed them with Clear Wax. I love how the dark wood pokes through the light hues and all that amazing charm now pops.

I'm not saying it's practical or comfortable, but it certainly looks cool! Retrofit an old bath tub into a fun reading spot in your playroom! My kids just might read for a few minutes longer..just because. ;)

once the last one has outgrown it? Try re-cycling it and turning it into a

Get two nightstands for the price of one! We think this a brilliant idea. Cutting a table in half, painting it and bolting it to the wall not only save on space but ads an eclectic tough that's light on your wallet!
Gold has snuck its revolving way back into fashion. Gold bangles. Gold lamps. Gold organizers. Gold hardware. If you've opened a magazine in the last year you know what I'm talking about...
If you've ever shopped for gold vintage mirrors you know how expensive they can be. Don't spend your hard pennies on the high price tag... go diy and create your own!
There are lots of gold toned spray paints out on the market. Some have more of a yellow undertone, some are more brassy. Use your favorite brand or whatever your preferred gold tone is. If you want an aged frame to replicate a really old vintage frame, use dark furniture wax on top of your paint.
We took this lovely mirror purchased from a thrift store. It had a nice size and the shape had some lovely details. But the color was... eh.
The frame received a little bath in Rust-Oleum American Accents Bright Metallics Gold.
And when we were done, it looked like this. A mirror just sprayed painted gold. No dimension. No depth. No character. Chintzy, right?

So much better...
