The Radke Mirrors

Another mirror post?! I know. I'm sorry. I've found a lot of them lately and I just can't help myself. They make me happy. :)

I advertised an emerald green mirror in our shop and within 24 hours there were several people taking a number to purchase it. So when a customer contacted me and learned that it had been spoken for, I offered her these instead. If you look beyond the color, you’ll notice all kinds of fabulous curves and details. And in an emerald green, they would look spectacular!

After two coats of Chalk Paint® decorative paint by Annie Sloan in Antibes and Dark Wax, I think they look smashing...

I have to admit, I’m a little bit green with envy.  I wish I had a spot for them in my own home. Until they get picked up, you’ll find me here. Sitting on the carpet. Drooling.

The Jackson Mirror

This mirror is massive coming in at 54” tall and 31.25” wide. It had really simple lines and I swear as it came off our truck I could hear it scream, “Paint me bold.” I never argue with a talking mirror.

I love Chalk Paint® decorative paint by Annie Sloan in Antibes Green. But, I wanted a little bit more of an emerald tone so I mixed 1 part Florence with 1 part Antibes together. Out came this rich green that paired with a dark wax gave it it’s bold color. It turned out really beautiful.. Here it is in all it’s 54” parts. :)

The Laura Lee Mirror

This mirror came with a dresser (which is still in the holding tank). I wanted a soft and neutral color for Ms. Laura Lee.

I decided on Chalk Paint® decorative paint by Annie Sloan in French Linen with medium distressing and finished her off in with a clear wax.

The lighter grey really allows you to see all of the details. Before, they were just covered up in the vintage brown stain.

The Kevin Mirrors

I found these pair of vintage brass mirrors at an estate sale. If they had been a deeper gold color, I probably wouldn’t have painted them. But, they had a dingy brass finish. So I opted for a pop of color. Using Chalk Paint® decorative paint by Annie Sloan, I created a custom color using 1 part Provence and 1 part Florence. Then, I reverse distressed it using a damp rag and dry brushed Napoleonic Blue over the top and finished it with a clear wax.

These will be hung above a double vanity... Gorgeous!

The Riley Chairs

My heart skipped a beat when I found this chair on Craigslist. Then, I found out that there wasn’t just one, but two of them! They were interesting, they looked comfy and the people that were selling them were practically giving them away. But, the color of the wood and the fabric choice were not my style.

I knew recovering them would be a little pricey, but I didn’t care. Before I picked these up, they were already transformed them in my head. :)

I chose this fabric from Fabric.com and painted the chairs in Chalk Paint® decorative paint by Annie Sloan in Old White.

Isn’t it amazing what a little paint and print can do?

The Girdard Table

Even when I’m packing and preparing to move 1700 miles, I’m still thinking about furniture. Not my own, but ones that I can re-purpose and refinish. It’s a love of mine. And no matter what else I’ve got going on, I’m always on the hunt for the next project. I fell in love with this table instantly. I loved her curvy base and her scrolly and chunky legs.

She had a beautiful cherry finish, but she was scratched up a bit. I chose Chalk Paint® decorative paint by Annie Sloan in French Linen for her outside. On the inside of the drawer I painted her Old Violet. Then, I dressed her with some fun yellow knobs. I love how she turned out. She would be beautiful in an entry or in an office.
